Ogni coppia che prende casa ha bisogno di pensare a come adattare le proprie esigenze culinarie a quella che sarà la propria casa. C’è il tipo di coppia che lavora tanto e che quindi esige una cucina molto dinamica, veloce da usare e senza accessori complicati da utilizzare; c’è la coppia, e questo è il mio caso, che ama cucinare e preparare manicaretti nuovi che invece predilige accessori sempre nuovi e quindi una cucina abbastanza capiente ed intelligente da poterli contenere tutti e che sia in grado di resistere alle guerre culinarie tra i Masterchef della casa appunto. Ed allora come fare? Bisogna affidarsi ad un progettista? Me lo sono chiesto anche io all’inizio ma poi ho capito che il progettista poteva aiutarmi solo a realizzare ciò di cui solo io sapevo di aver bisogno per avere una cucina che rispondesse alle mie di esigenze.

Mi spiego meglio, nulla togliere ai progettisti delle migliori case di design e arredo casa, è necessario che la persona che andrà ad utilizzare maggiormente la propria cucina si metta fisicamente nello spazio (temporaneamente vuoto) destinato all’alloggio della propria cucina e, guardandosi attorno, si immagini ad usarla in tutto e per tutto. Mi sono immaginata, così, di aprire cassetti, posare pentole e accendere fornelli immaginando in anticipo quali fossero le mie esigenze e ciò che, una volta avuto tutto a disposizione, mi sarebbe effettivamente servito.
La dispensa a destra perchè preferisco il frigorifero a sinistra, il piano cottura a cinque fuochi per far sì da usare più fuochi contemporaneamente senza problemi di spazio, il lavello per i piatti ad una vasca perchè avendo la lavastoviglie i piatti si laveranno da soli ed io approfitterò dello spazio in più sul piano per impastare, tagliuzzare e tritare.

Al sud, da dove vengo io precisamente, è usanza scegliere un lavello a doppia vasca con sgocciolatoio che da una parte è utilissimo per lavare i piatti a mano ma dall’altra diventa un po’ obsoleto ed ingombrante, contando che tutte le cucine ormai sono fornite da una lavastoviglie che fa risparmiare anche tempo, soldi ed energia.

Concludendo le regole principali a cui ho fatto affidamento quando mi sono occupata, personalmente della progettazione della mia cucina sono:

• Tenere a mente sempre quali sono le nostre esigenze di tempo e spazio;
• Non correre e prendersi tutto il tempo di ripensarci e figurarsi fisicamente nella propria cucina mentre la si usa;
• Lasciarsi il tempo di vedere quale più ci piace e farsi fare diversi preventivi del proprio disegno;
• Affidarsi al progettista per i tecnicismi e le immancabili modifiche dell’ultimo minuto (perchè in fondo non siamo tutti architetti).

Per fortuna la cosa sta arrivando anche in Italia, è già modesto il numero di negozi che vende detersivi, cereali, pasta, spezie ed altro sfusi come se fossimo del fruttivendolo. Una sorta di ritorno alle origini, ai tempi in cui di imballaggi di plastica non se ne vedevano, noi aspettiamo con ansia che si adeguino anche le grandi catene di supermercati così da inquinare di meno e mangiar ancora meglio!
