In questo giorno infatti si suole mangiare cibo di quel colore e vestirsi della stessa tonalità. In particolare, sui vestiti ad esempio, non può mancare il trifoglio. Questa pratica era diffusa già agli inizi dei festeggiamenti in onore del santo; questo perché la tradizione afferma che egli spiegò il mistero della santissima Trinità agli irlandesi pre-cristiani proprio attraverso questa pianta a tre foglie. Di conseguenza, sia il vestirsi di verde il 17 marzo sia il trifoglio stesso sono diventati simbolo di quel giorno

Tempo di preparazione: 20 minuti  –   Tempo di cottura: 30 minuti

• 150 gr di farina 00
• 50 gr di frumina
• 1 pizzico di sale
• 150 gr di burro (a temperatura ambiente)
• 150 ml di birra scura (io ho usato una Mc Farland rossa)
• 200 gr di zucchero 
• 3 uova
• 1 bustina di vanillina
• 1/2 bustina di lievito per dolci 
• q.b. di zucchero a velo

PREPARAZIONE:

Per preparare la ciambella, iniziare a lavorare a crema il burro con lo zucchero, quindi aggiungere le uova e la vanillina e continuare a lavorare.

In una terrina setacciare la farina, la frumina, il sale ed il lievito e mescolare gli ingredienti secchi.

Aggiungere gli ingredienti secchi a cucchiaiate all’impasto mentre si continua a lavorare, alternandoli alla birra.
Dopo aver ottenuto un composto liscio ed omogeneo versarlo in uno stampo a ciambella di 25cm di diametro.
Infornare la ciambella in forno preriscaldato a 180° per 30-35 minuti, sfornarla e lasciarla raffreddare.

Quando è fredda sformare la ciambella e servirla spolverizzandola con lo zucchero a velo. La vostra Ciambella di San Patrizio è pronta, buon Saint Patrick’s Day!

Add the dry ingredients to spoon the dough while you continue to work, alternating them with beer.
After you get a smooth homogeneous mixture pour it into a ring mold with a diameter of 25cm.
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes, Remove from oven and let it cool down.
