Quasi Natale. Lorenzo mi ha chiesto di fare gli addobbi natalizi e quest’anno ho provato ancora più felicità nel preparare la casa alla magica atmosfera natalizia. Lui ha 5 anni e con le sue  manine cicciose da ometto scarta le palline da mettere all’albero. 

QUANTO AMORE NEI PICCOLI GESTI. 

Quest’anno abbiamo messo anche le lucine

Considerato che oramai manca quasi un mese a Natale, quest’anno ho pensato di preparare delle piccole decorazioni natalizie, giusto per rendere la casa più bella e creare “la giusta atmosfera”.  Ho pensato di dedicare una parte del mio tempo a fare delle decorazioni “fai da te” perché credo che le cose fatte con le proprie mani rendano tutto più bello e speciale.

I miei primissimi esperimenti con i rotoli di carta igienica risalgono allo scorso Natale, quando ho provato a fare delle semplici stelle luccicanti da appendere all’albero di Natale. Visto il buon risultato quest’anno ho pensato di fare una Stella di Natale di carta più grande e più bella di quelle dello scorso anno.

Avevo deciso il colore ancor prima di iniziare a tagliare ed assemblare: non poteva che essere bronzo antico! Ho subito scelto questo colore perché – pur essendo metallico e scintillante – trovo che allo stesso tempo sia elegante e discreto.  Credo infatti che il bronzo antico si accosterà meravigliosamente ai colori intensi e luminosi…semplicemente perfetti per Natale!

Quando ho iniziato ad incollare i vari pezzi di carta non avevo un’idea esatta di quello che avrei ottenuto, sapevo bene però che volevo una Stella di Natale un po’ grande e “diversa dal solito”.  Ho quindi semplicemente lasciato scatenare la mia fantasia… e questo è il risultato del mio esperimento di decorazione con i rotoli di carta igienica (ho altre cosine in divenire, ma non sono ancora terminate).

Since Christmas time is next door, this year I have thought to experiment a do it yourself decoration in order to get the house in the right atmosphere. I have decided to do this because I believe it is nice to have some little objects done with our own hands standing side by side, with all the shiny beautiful things we can buy everywhere in this period. I also believe that homemade decorations give our personal touch to everything and make all more precious and valuable.

I have started last Christmas to make my experiments with paper toilet rolls decorations. I have done some simple star to pin on our Christmas Tree and – since I really liked the results – I have arranged to do a newer and bigger one for this year.  Before I even started to work on my little project  I knew which colour I wanted: antique bronze.  I have chosen this colour because it is sparkling and metallic but at the same time I think it is chic and delicate. It will match beautifully a wide range of vivid colours, which is just ideal for Christmas.

When I started to put things together I did not even know exactly what I was going to get, but I knew very well that I wanted a Christmas Star, I just let my creativity and fantasy have their own way…and this is the result of this experiment (I have other projects on the way but still not finished yet)…
