Education And Architecture Seeking Grounds For Dialogue

Da dove cominciare? Dal dirvi che io sono appassionata di B&B, e che quando sono in giro cerco sempre di dormirci. Perché? Perché io sono convinta che aprire un Bed & Breakfast sia una vocazione, non un lavoro come un altro, un lavoro che va fatto con passione.

Un Bed & Breakfast a Siena centro, che vi consiglio volentieri, è il Paradiso Numero 4, che ha da poco ottenuto il il marchio AITR (Ass. Italiana Turismo Responsabile), e sono davvero poche le strutture che si possono fregiare di questo prestigioso riconoscimento.

A mandare avanti tutto è Paola D’Orefice, da sempre appassionata di ecosostenibilità e prodotti buoni della terra, e conosciuta grazie a quel vulcano di Annalisa Coppolaro. Il nome del B&B non è un caso, prima perché siamo in Via del Paradiso 4, secondo, perché è al quarto piano, e da lassù c’è una bellissima vista sul Duomo, sulla chiesa di San Domenico, e su Piazza della Posta (Piazza Matteotti). Praticamente si toccano i tetti di Siena, e a anche una verandina dove poter fare colazione, leggere, o semplicemente guardare il panorama.

Le camere tutte con vista, sono state arredate con fantasia da Paola: oguna è diversa, e molti pezzi di arredamento sono stati scovati nei mercatini delle pulci e sistemati ad arte. C’è anche un progetto di adibire una camera del B&B a cameretta dei bambini, con giochi e oggetti pensati apposta per loro.

A Siena è uno dei pochi posti in città con la terrazza tra i tetti, dove poter guardare il panorama, leggere o semplicemente sorseggiare un buon bicchiere di vino scrutando San Domenico o il Duomo. Non verrebbe mai in mente di trovare un terrazzo lassù, eppure c’è e vuoi mettere la bellezza di far colazione toccando il cielo con un dito?

La colazione del Bed & Breakfast è uno dei punti forti, in quanto Paola è stata fin da subito chiara con i suoi clienti: marmellate e dolci fatti in casa, e pane e altri prodotti legati al territorio. Prevalgono i prodotti biologici, e in particolare gli alimenti di quei produttori che veramente credono al biologico e a lavorare la terra con amore.

Non capita così spesso di trovare un luogo del genere, dove la responsabilità di non inquinare, di fare la raccolta differenziata, di riciclare le cose, è altamente sentita e messa in pratica. Ve lo consiglio a voi viaggiatori, oppure a chi viene a Siena non solo da turista, ma anche da lavoratore, perchè siete in pieno centro, alla portata di tutto,  monumenti, musei e tranquillità.
